My 3 Go-To Makeup Looks and Where to Buy Makeup Online

Hello, hello! It feels refreshing to write another beauty-related article, since my last blog posts were mostly wedding updates. I don’t think I’ve ever really written about my go-to makeup looks, so I decided to compile three of my favorites here! If you follow me on Instagram, I also created a hashtag called #GretasJunkyardMakeup, where you’ll find all the makeup looks I’ve posted since the beginning of time.

Just a quick disclaimer when it comes to my makeup nowadays—I have two kinds: the lazy girl makeup, which I wear more often whenever I have meetings for work or day-time PR events to attend, and the full glam makeup, which I like to wear on more formal occasions (like weddings) and evening events.

The difference between my lazy girl makeup and my full glam makeup is basically in the products used. Lazy Girl Makeup usually consists of just three—brow gel, cheek tint, and lipstick. When my KeraLift‘s effects have died down, then I also curl my lashes and apply mascara.

Meanwhile, Full Glam Makeup consists of the whole entourage—primer, foundation, corrector, concealer, cream contour, setting powder, eyebrow pen and powder, eye shadow, eyeliner, false eyelashes and mascara, powder contour, blush powder, highlighter, lipstick, and setting spray. Phew! Did I miss anything? I hope not!
For this post, I decided to list my go-to full glam makeup looks and where you can buy the products I always use. You’ll notice that I basically use the same products for my base and brows—I just like to change up my eye shadow, blush, and lipstick!

Probably the least used of my go-to looks is this play on pink. But I love it so much, because pink is such a fun color to experiment with! The pink shade I tend to normally use is a light powder pink—since this is great for a monochromatic effect. In this particular look, I used the following products listed below.
I also hyperlinked them to different online shops, where you can buy them!
  • W7 Prime Magic Face Primer
  • Maybelline FitMe Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation in 220
  • Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Concealer in Medium
  • Maybelline V-Face Duo Stick in Medium
  • RCMA No-Color Powder
  • The Balm Desert Bronzer/Blush in Take a Dip – should be available in Beauty Bar stores, though it’s not in their online shop
  • K-Palette Lasting Eyebrow Pen in Natural Brown
  • B. By Banila Eyecrush Shadow Palette in Pink Crush – tried looking online, but Banila Co.’s online shop didn’t have it!
  • Milani Powder Blush in Tea Rose
  • W7 Glowcomotion
  • Sleek Makeup Matte Me in Birthday Suit + Ofra Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Laguna Beach
  • L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Spray
This was actually my makeup look for mine and the Cupcake’s pre-nup photo shoot! It’s also one of my frequently used looks, because you can never go wrong with browns and nudes. For this one, I actually used mostly drugstore products! Our shoot took all day, but I’m happy to report that my makeup stayed intact, and did not crease nor cake.
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Primer
  • Maybelline FitMe Matte + Poreless in 220
  • LA Girl PRO Conceal Orange Corrector
  • Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in Medium
  • Maybelline V-Face Duo Stick
  • RCMA No-Color Powder
  • K-Palette Lasting 2Way Liquid Pen and Powder in Natural Brown
  • Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette
  • Strokes KeraLift
  • The Balm Cosmetics Bronzer in Take a Dip
  • LA Girl Just Blushing in Just Playful – available in Calyxta‘s HQ!
  • Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit + Sunnies Face in Milkshake
  • NYX Cosmetics Matte Finish Spray – not sure where you can buy this anymore, since NYX is pulling out of the country! 🙁
Last but not least is my favorite look of the three—a monochromatic peach/orange ensemble! I’m told that some people tend to shy away from this color because it’s intimidating or doesn’t suit their skin tone, but I think it’s all about finding the right hue for your undertone! I also changed up my techniques to achieve this specific look. For example, after applying primer, I used Glossier’s Cloud Paint in Dawn (a lot more than usual) on my cheeks before applying foundation, highlighter/concealer, and cream contour. Then for my eyes, I applied an orange base all over my lid, then created a gradient effect with warm browns, before topping it off with a shimmery warm copper shade using my Zoeva Caramel Melange and Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes. Then for the inner corners of my eyes and on my brow bone, I used a shimmery yellow gold shade! For my eyeliner, instead of K-Palette’s black liquid liner, I used their brown one. Plus I added more highlights than usual using Sleek MakeUp’s Cleopatra’s Kiss Highlighting Palette. Below were the rest of the products I used, in order:
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Primer + Glossier Cloud Paint in Dawn
  • RCMA Series Favorites Palette in KO
  • LA Girl PRO Conceal Orange Corrector
  • NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard
  • NYX Wonder Stick in Medium
  • RCMA No-Color Powder
  • K-Palette Lasting Liquid Pen in 02 + K-Palette 2Way Lasting Liquid Pen and Powder in 03
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
  • Zoeva Caramel Melange and Too Faced Chocolate Bar
  • K-Palette Lasting Tattoo Liquid Liner in Deep Brown
  • Bohktoh Eyelash Adhesive and Falsies in 3D05
  • Pixi Eye Bright Liner
  • Pixi Natural Contour Powder
  • BLK Cosmetics Contour and Highlight Palette in Sunkissed
  • Sleek MakeUp Cleopatra’s Highlighting Palette
  • Ofra Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Rio (I think Glamourbox phased this out already!) + Sunnies Face Fluffmatte in Vacay
  • NYX Matte Finish Spray

So those are my three go-to makeup looks whenever I have big events to attend. To be honest, they’re not the most experimental. They’re all very safe and easy to wear anywhere. Which look is your favorite?
